What I Loved/ Thought: ★★★★☆

What a compelling mystery! Crime thriller at its best, and I was happy to see that it also included romance.

The Last Sister is the first book in this series, that follows FBI agents Zander Wells and his partner, Ava McClane, in small town Oregon, as they witness a horrific murder. A grisly death tied to dark family secrets.

Weaved in history and racism, the reader begins to see things unfold as the mystery is explained. Is this murder a hate crime?

Emily Mills adds to the story with secrets she has been hiding. Family secrets, eccentric aunts, and questions I needed to know!
